Board Edge, End Launch — What That Footprint Expects

The end launch design places the connector at the PCB edge with the signal pin soldered directly to a trace, and the ground legs soldered to the board ground plane. The threaded fastening type means the mating SMA plug tightens with a 1/4-36 nut — no snap-on or push-pull. The shield is terminated by solder, so the ground return path is handled at the board level, not through a separate braid.
