The shield and center contact both terminate by solder, so the ground path is a direct soldered joint, not a press-fit or crimp.

The gold-plated center contact supports 500 mating cycles; the tin-plated brass body saves cost over a full-gold shell in fixed-install or low-reconnect applications. The PTFE dielectric keeps insertion loss at 0.6 dB through 4 GHz.

The 903-373J-51A shares the same 50 Ohm impedance, 4 GHz ceiling, 500 mating cycles, and snap-on SMB interface as the 903-415J-51P. The difference is the shell: tin-plated brass here (silver appearance) vs gold-plated brass on the 903-415J-51P. The gold body adds corrosion margin in salt-fog or high-humidity environments; the tin body is the cost-optimized choice for controlled indoor or sealed enclosures. Insertion loss on the gold-body sibling is 0.3 dB, half the 0.6 dB of this part — the tin finish adds a small loss penalty at the upper frequency end.
