What the Non-Magnetic Build and BeCu Body Mean for Signal Integrity
Most MMCX connectors use a brass body with nickel underplate. The 908-NM22109 replaces that with beryllium copper throughout — body and center contact — and plates it in gold. Beryllium copper retains its spring temper after repeated snap-on cycles better than phosphor bronze or brass, which directly supports the 500-cycle rating. The non-magnetic property (permeability near 1.000) eliminates the risk of the connector being drawn into a strong magnetic field or distorting the field itself, which is why this part gets specified for MRI receiver coils, NMR probes, and particle-detector front-ends.
