HD-EFI Plug for RG-178/196 — 50 Ohm, 6 GHz, Right-Angle Panel Mount
It is a right-angle panel-mount connector with a snap-on fastening mechanism, rated to 6 GHz. The right-angle body keeps the cable parallel to the panel, saving depth in tight enclosures.
Cable Termination and Kit Contents
This plug is pre-configured for RG-178 and RG-196 cables — the two most common thin-profile coax types for internal RF jumpers. The centre contact is soldered, and the shield is terminated via crimp. The kit ships as three pieces: the connector body, a separate end cap, and a ferrule. The end cap and ferrule are installed during cable preparation; the ferrule crimps over the braid, and the end cap seats the dielectric.
The connector mounts through a panel hole and is secured by the right-angle body flange. The snap-on fastening provides quick connect/disconnect in the field — no tools needed for mating. Rated for 200 mating cycles, which is adequate for periodic service access but not for daily reconnection. The plug mates with any standard HD-EFI receptacle.
