Product details

SMPM Plug Kit for RG-178/196 — Field-Installable Coax Termination

The Amphenol 925-129C-51S is an SMPM plug kit for RG-178 and RG-196 coaxial cable, supplied as three pieces: the connector body, a center contact, and a ferrule. SMPM is the miniature snap-on interface used where board density or panel space limits the use of standard SMP connectors — common in compact RF modules, test equipment, and airborne electronics where every millimetre of height matters. This kit terminates the cable in the field: the center contact solders to the signal conductor, the ferrule crimps over the braid for shield termination, and the snap-on coupling provides a quick mate with the matching SMPM jack.

100 Mating Cycles — Set-and-Forget Duty

For a test-port application needing frequent reconnects, the 925-138J-51P offers 500 cycles with a full-detent retention feature — but that jack uses a solder shield termination and is not a direct cable-plug replacement.

Frequently asked questions

What cable does 925-129C-51S work with?

The 925-129C-51S is designed for RG-178 and RG-196 coaxial cable groups. It is not compatible with RG-316 or other larger-diameter coax without changing the ferrule and contact.
