The 925-168J-51PT: The right-angle surface-mount termination places the signal launch parallel to the board edge — a common layout for compact RF modules where a vertical connector would exceed the z-height budget. The SMPM interface is the smaller sibling of the SMP series, trading a slightly lower frequency ceiling for a tighter board footprint and higher density on multi-port arrays. The full-detent feature (a spring-loaded retention groove) gives a positive tactile snap when mated, so the installer knows the pair is fully engaged without a visual check.
Because this is a right-angle SMT jack, the PCB footprint places the signal pad at the board edge and the ground pads on the sides and rear. The shield termination is solder — the ground pads must be tied to the RF ground plane with a clear return path under the launch to keep the impedance transition clean. The mating half is an SMPM plug (male or female depending on the cable or adapter); the snap-on fastening type means the pair engages with a push and releases with a straight pull — no threaded coupling, so the retention relies entirely on the detent spring. If the application requires frequent field-service disconnect, the gold-on-gold contact interface will hold contact resistance stable through the rated cycles, but the detent spring will wear — plan for replacement after the cycle count is exhausted.
