The Amphenol RF A-2JA is a 50 Ohm AMMC-series jack with a male centre pin, designed for surface-mount board-level RF interconnects. It carries a 500 V voltage rating and a 3 GHz maximum frequency, suiting it for moderate-bandwidth RF paths where the board launch needs a controlled 50 Ohm impedance. Gold plating on the centre contact and a Liquid Crystal Polymer dielectric keep the signal path stable across the -40°C to 90°C operating range.
20 Mating Cycles — A Semi-Permanent RF Connection
Rated for 20 mating cycles, this jack is not built for frequent disconnect-reconnect duty. The low cycle count points to a design intended for one-time or occasional field service — the connector gets soldered to the board, mated to its counterpart, and stays. If your application requires repeated mating (test points, modular swaps), the 30-cycle A-1JB peer or the 100-cycle SMPM option offer more headroom. The silver body finish on phosphor bronze provides the RF shield, with shield termination through solder.
