Backshell for AHDM Series — Size 18, M32 Thread
The Amphenol AHDMBS-18-001 is a straight (180°) backshell for the DuraMate™ AHDM circular connector family, shell size 18. It accepts cable bundles up to 0.925" (23.50 mm) diameter and terminates with an M32x1.5 thread — the standard gland interface for this shell size. The black thermoplastic body includes a tie wrap holder for securing the cable against pull-out, and the unshielded design keeps the assembly weight low in harness applications where EMI protection is handled at the connector or cable level.
Thread and Cable Opening — Fit Check
The M32x1.5 thread mates with the corresponding gland nut on the AHDM size 18 connector back end. The 0.925" (23.50 mm) cable opening clears a bundle of 20–22 AWG wires in a typical 18-position power circuit layout; for larger fills, confirm the packed diameter stays under 23.50 mm before the tie wrap cinches down.
Molded from thermoplastic, the backshell carries a ROHS3 compliance rating. No gasket or seal is included in the base part — if the application requires an environmental seal at the backshell-to-connector interface, order the sealing gasket separately from the AHDM accessory range. The unshielded body is suited for indoor cabinet or protected harness runs; for shielded cable termination, use the shielded variant in the AHDM backshell family.
