The slide lock actuator secures the cable after insertion — push the lock forward and it clamps the FPC tail against the contacts. No secondary latch or adhesive needed; the lock holds against vibration and moderate cable pull. Gold flash plating (1.97 µinch) on phosphor bronze contacts gives 30 mating cycles. That's enough for a one-time assembly or occasional field service, but not for repeated disconnect-reconnect cycles.
