Pitch and FPC Thickness — the Fit Check
The F31S-1A7L1-11030: If your cable is thicker or thinner, this connector won't grip the contacts properly. The ZIF flip-lock mechanism holds the FPC without insertion force on the contacts — the beam wipes the pad on closure, not on insertion. The backlock feature keeps the actuator latched under vibration.
Current and Mating Cycles — Signal Duty Only
The narrow pitch and gold flash plating (1.97 µin) limit current to keep temperature rise within the LCP housing's UL94 V-0 rating. 30 mating cycles is the rated endurance. That gold flash is enough for a few reconnects in a production test fixture or a field-service swap, but not for repeated daily cycling. For higher cycle life, look at thicker gold plating in the same series.
The 30-position variant is the middle option — if your BOM calls for fewer circuits, the 20-position (F31S-1A7L1-11020) or 15-position (F31S-1A7L1-11015) are direct drop-in matches for footprint and stack height.
