In a one-time assembly or infrequent disconnect scenario, that is adequate; for repeated field-service reconnects, a thicker gold contact would be more durable. The ZIF actuator is a flip-lock backlock — it clamps the FFC without insertion force, and the lock holds the cable in place against vibration.
The contacts wipe both top and bottom of the flex pad — no need to orient the cable. Mates with any standard 0.50 mm pitch FFC cable of the correct width and thickness. No separate housing or plug is required — the cable inserts directly into the connector body.
