The FA1-NARP-PCB-8: This is the Code A keying variant of the FA1-NARP series, one of several colour-coded Fakra keys that prevent cross-mating in multi-connector harness assemblies. The locking ramp fastening provides positive retention under vibration — the ramp clicks into the mating receptacle and holds without threaded coupling, which is the standard Fakra latching mechanism for automotive-grade connections. The dielectric is PTFE, which maintains stable impedance across the rated frequency range.
Code A Keying vs Code C and Code D Siblings
The FA1-NARP-PCB-8 (Code A) shares the same 50 Ohm impedance, 6 GHz frequency ceiling, 0.3 dB insertion loss, and 100 mating cycles with the FA1-NCRP-PCB-8 (Code C) and FA1-NDRP-PCB-8 (Code D). The only difference between these three is the keying code and the corresponding housing colour — Code A uses a black/jet housing, Code C uses blue/signal, and Code D uses violet/claret. The body finish also differs: Code A has a nickel body, while Codes C and D use a tin body finish. All three are active and mate with the same Fakra receptacle family, but the keying is non-negotiable — a Code A plug will not enter a Code C or Code D receptacle.
