32-Position FFC/FPC Socket for Board-Edge Signal Routing
Board Fit and Orientation Details
The height above board is 3.90 mm (0.154"), which sets the clearance needed under the cable bend radius. The 1.00 mm pitch is a standard FFC spacing — confirm the FFC pad pitch matches before layout. The connector is a top-contact type, meaning the FFC's conductive pads face upward when the cable is inserted. For a semi-permanent assembly, the 30-cycle rating is adequate; if the cable is disconnected more than a few times in the field, consider a gold-plated variant.
The HLW32R-2C7LF shares the same 1.00 mm pitch, 3.90 mm height, tin contacts, and right-angle through-hole footprint with the 22-position HLW22R-2C7LF and the 28-position HLW28R-2C7LF. The key difference is position count — 32 circuits vs 22 or 28 — which changes the board footprint length proportionally. The 28-position variant accepts both 0.30 mm and 0.33 mm FFC thickness; the 32-position is specified for 0.33 mm only. The 30-position HLW30R-2C7LF uses solder termination instead of kinked pins and accepts 0.30 mm FFC — a different mechanical fit. If the BOM calls for kinked pins, stick with the HLW32R or the lower-position siblings.
