Mounting and shielding termination
The plug body is a zinc alloy with nickel finish — the metal shell provides the ground path and EMC shielding. Shield termination is via solder to the PCB ground plane, so the shield current returns directly rather than coupling into the signal pair. The right-angle through-hole footprint means the connector pins solder into plated through-holes, giving a mechanical anchor that resists the lever force from the cable. The dielectric is thermoplastic, and the housing color is black — standard for the Code A keying variant.
