Screw Termination and Wire Prep
Termination is via screw clamp, accepting 18 AWG wire. No crimp tool is needed — strip the wire, insert into the clamp, tighten the screw. This makes the L717DE09PST a field-serviceable choice for MRO and panel wiring where quick replacement without a crimp press is valued. The machined contacts (not stamped) give consistent clamping force and higher pull-out retention than a stamped contact in a screw terminal.
Mating Half and Shell Compatibility
The unthreaded housing/shell flange accepts standard D-Sub backshells and hoods with 4-40 jack-screws for locking. The grounding indents on the shell provide a low-impedance path to the mating receptacle's shield, reducing radiated emissions. For a complete cable assembly, pair it with a female receptacle such as the L717DE09SST (screw termination, female) or a solder-cup version.
