The Amphenol RF PSMP-FSBA-2580 is a straight, in-line PSMP plug-to-plug adapter with female-to-female center contacts. It belongs to the PSMP series, a smaller sibling of the SMP interface designed for densely packed RF boards where space is tight. The adapter uses snap-on coupling on both ends — no threading, so it mates and unmates quickly in blind-mate or board-to-board applications. The dielectric is PTFE, giving stable impedance up to the rated 10 GHz.
Rated for 50 Ohm systems from DC to 10 GHz, this adapter covers L-band through X-band — suitable for radar, satellite comms, test equipment, and microwave backhaul where the signal path needs a matched-impedance barrel. The 10 GHz ceiling is the practical limit before the PSMP interface's internal geometry starts to degrade return loss; for sub-6 GHz work the margin is generous. The snap-on fastening type on both ends means the adapter can be inserted and removed without tools, but the mating cycle rating of 100 cycles sets a practical reconnect budget — fine for test setups and field-swap modules, less suited to a production line where connectors are mated hundreds of times a day.
