18-Position ZIF FPC Connector for Board-Edge Routing
The SFV18R-4STBE1HLF is an 18-position, 0.50mm pitch FPC connector from the SFV-R series, designed for right-angle surface-mount termination. The ZIF slide-lock actuator accepts FPC thicknesses of 0.30mm and 0.33mm, with top-side contact orientation. Gold-plated phosphor bronze contacts deliver 0.5A per circuit at 50V, with a rated 20 mating cycles — sufficient for one-time assembly or infrequent field rework in consumer and industrial electronics. The 1.80mm height above board keeps the connector low-profile for tight enclosure stacks.
Gold vs Tin Contact Finish on the SFV-R Line
Compared to the tin-plated SFV16R-4STE1HLF (16 positions, same pitch and height), the SFV18R-4STBE1HLF uses gold contact finish. Gold maintains lower contact resistance over the rated 20 mating cycles, especially in environments with humidity or mild corrosive exposure. The 18-position count is two more than the SFV16R-4STE1HLF — a meaningful difference if the FPC carries an extra signal pair or a wider ground trace.
