24-Position, 0.50mm Pitch FPC Connector with ZIF Flip Lock
The SFV24R-3STBE1HLF is a 24-position FPC connector from Amphenol ICC's SFV-R series, built on a 0.50mm pitch. It uses a zero-insertion-force (ZIF) flip-lock actuator to secure the FPC — the latch flips open, the cable inserts, and the lock snaps down, holding the contacts without requiring insertion force on the flex circuit. For a field-service application where the FPC is disconnected quarterly, that is roughly five years of reconnect duty at the contact interface. This suits board-edge routing in space-constrained enclosures where z-height is tight.
FPC Compatibility and Termination
The ZIF flip lock eliminates insertion force on the flex — the actuator rotates down after the cable is seated, pressing the contacts against the FPC pads. The housing material is liquid crystal polymer (LCP), glass filled and halogen free, with a flammability rating of UL94 V-0. The actuator is polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), also glass filled and halogen free. Both materials withstand the reflow temperatures typical for lead-free soldering.
