The slide lock secures the FPC after insertion; the ZIF mechanism means the contacts do not wipe during insertion, preserving the tin-plated phosphor bronze interface for the rated 20 mating cycles.

Both accept 0.30mm FPC thickness and are top-contact. The slide lock on this part mates with straight or tapered cable ends; the flip-lock variant specifies notched or tabbed cable ends.
The housing is black polyamide (nylon), glass-filled and halogen-free; the actuator is polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), also glass-filled and halogen-free. Both materials are rated UL94 V-0.
