The housing is brown UL94 V-0 thermoplastic, and the contacts are tin-plated phosphor bronze. The 5.30 mm height above board (0.209") gives clearance for the actuator and the FPC bend radius.

ZIF Actuator and Mating Cycle Life

The ZIF mechanism means the FPC is inserted with zero force on the contacts — the actuator clamps down after insertion. Mating cycles are rated at 20, which is low. For a one-time assembly in a consumer or fixed-install product, that's fine. For a field-service connector that gets disconnected and reconnected repeatedly, the 20-cycle limit means the contact finish will wear through and resistance will rise. Tin plating on the contacts also limits cycle life compared to gold.
