28-Pin Vertical ZIF for 0.30 mm FPC
SFW28S-2STE1LF is a 28-position, 1.00 mm pitch, vertical SMD ZIF connector accepting FPC thickness of 0.30 mm. The Zero Insertion Force (ZIF) actuator opens the contacts before the FPC enters, then clamps down — no scraping or bending of the flex circuit pads during insertion. The kinked-pin SMT termination provides mechanical retention during reflow.
That is a signal-level duty cycle — fine for a production assembly that stays mated for the life of the product, or for a test/development board that sees a handful of insertions. It is not intended for repeated field disconnect. The tin contact finish, rather than gold, is the limiting factor for cycle life. Tin-on-tin interfaces wear with repeated wiping; 20 cycles is the manufacturer's guaranteed minimum before contact resistance rises.
