Current, Temperature, and Mating Duty
The SFW30S-2STE1LF: In a production harness that gets mated once and stays, that is fine. In a field-service connector that gets cycled quarterly, the tin interface will wear — gold-plated siblings in the SFW series are the better choice for repeated reconnect duty.
FFC Thickness and Cable End Compatibility
The connector/contact type is vertical, 1-sided — the FPC must have the contact pads on one side only, oriented toward the contact beam. The cable end can be straight or tapered, which gives flexibility in cable routing.
The SFW series offers the same 1.00mm pitch and vertical ZIF form factor in 18, 28, and 30 positions. If the BOM calls for 30 positions, the SFW30S-2STE1LF is the match. The SFW30S-2STME1LF is a near-identical sibling with a 0.33mm FFC thickness tolerance and molded-closed positions 5, 6, 7, 8 and 13 — check your FPC thickness before substituting.
