What This Connector Does in the Assembly
The SFW5R-2STE1LF is a 5-position FFC/FPC connector from the SFW-R series, designed for a single-row, 1.00 mm pitch interface. It mates with a 0.30 mm thick flat flex cable using a top-contact, zero insertion force (ZIF) actuator — the actuator lifts the contact beams clear of the FPC pads during insertion, then clamps them down for a gas-tight connection.
Five positions suit low-circuit-count signal or power lines. The mated height above board is 0.106" (2.70 mm), which fits standard board-to-cover clearances.
Rated for 20 mating cycles — the tin contact finish limits cycle life compared to gold-plated alternatives. For higher reconnect duty, consider a gold-plated sibling in the SFW-R series.
