1.00 mm Pitch, 8-Position FPC Connector with ZIF Actuation
Zero Insertion Force (ZIF) actuation means the FPC slides in without contact beam deflection during insertion — the actuator is closed after the cable is seated, which eliminates pad scoring on the FPC tail. The 20 mating cycles limit this connector to applications where the FPC is inserted once during manufacturing and rarely reconnected in the field — think display interconnects, sensor modules, or battery management boards inside sealed enclosures. The housing and actuator are glass-filled thermoplastic rated UL94 V-0, and the connector accepts FPC thickness of 0.33 mm.
20 Mating Cycles — What That Means for Field Service
The rated 20 mating cycles reflect the gold plating thickness and contact beam design. In a consumer device assembled once and never serviced, this is adequate. For a field-service technician who might disconnect and reconnect the FPC during troubleshooting, each cycle consumes 5% of the rated life — after 20 mates the contact resistance may rise above the circuit tolerance. Plan for a connector replacement if the board sees multiple rework cycles.
It is RoHS compliant.
