The SMP-FS2A-224 is a straight SMP plug-to-plug adapter from the SMP series, configured female-to-female — it links two male SMP connectors end-to-end in a free-hanging, in-line signal path. Mating is snap-on at both ends, with a rated life of 100 mating cycles.

This adapter mates with any standard SMP male plug (snap-on interface) at both ends. The female-to-female centre gender means it accepts male centre pins on both sides. It is not compatible with SMPM connectors — the SMPM interface is smaller and uses a different shell diameter and detent geometry. The snap-on fastening at each end provides a quick connect/disconnect for blind-mate or densely populated boards; the 100-cycle rating is typical for a test or module interconnect where the adapter is mated and unmated during assembly or calibration, not for a permanent install that sees hundreds of cycles.
