Connector Overview
It carries a 0.031" (0.80mm) mating pitch — tight enough that the PCB footprint needs a clean layout and controlled solder paste deposition for the SMT tails. The housing is shielded and includes a board guide and latch holder, so the mated pair stays locked under vibration and the shield continuity is maintained through the enclosure ground. Contacts are phosphor bronze with gold plating: 8.00µin (0.203µm) on the mating side and 1.25µin (0.032µm) on the post. Rated 500mA per circuit at 125VAC, with the current limited more by the contact cross-section at this pitch than by the gold thickness. The housing is molded from polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) rated UL94 V-0, with an insulation height of 0.114" (2.90mm). The black PPS handles reflow temperatures well and holds up in environments where a V-0 flame rating is required inside the equipment enclosure.
Mating & Termination
Termination is surface-mount solder on a right-angle footprint — the SMT tails are on the bottom side of the 0.80mm-pitch row, so the board pad layout must match the Hirose recommended pattern for the 3200 series. The latch holder and board guide provide mechanical retention during reflow and in-service vibration; the shield adds EMI containment for the cable assembly. Mates with the corresponding 3200 series plug (sold separately) — build-to-print needs both halves specified.
