0.35mm Pitch Mezzanine Receptacle for Tight Stack Heights
The Hirose BM28N0.6-60DS/2-0.35V(51) is a 60-position receptacle with center strip contacts from the BM28 series, designed for board-to-board mezzanine stacking where the vertical clearance is tight. The 0.014" (0.35mm) pitch and 0.024" (0.61mm) height above board let it fit into compact portable electronics — think smartphone mainboards, wearable modules, or camera sensor boards that stack parallel at a 0.6mm mated height. Gold-plated contacts (1.97µin) on both rows handle the signal density without corrosion concerns over the product life.
SMT with Solder Retention — Feeds the Line Cleanly
The surface-mount termination and Tape & Reel packaging mean it feeds through a standard pick-and-place line without a tray change. Cut Tape (CT) is also available for prototype or low-volume builds, so the same part number works across NPI and production.
What the 0.6mm Stack Height Means for the Build
That is tight — the board-to-board gap is roughly the thickness of two stacked FR4 layers. The 0.024" (0.61mm) height above board on the receptacle side means the mating header (the BM28N0.6-60DP/2-0.35V(53) at 0.018" (0.46mm) height) takes the rest of the stack. For a 0.8mm PCB, the total assembly thickness lands around 1.4mm — within the range of many thin-device enclosures.
60 Positions at 0.35mm Pitch — Routing Density
Sixty signals across a 0.35mm pitch in two rows means the PCB land pattern is dense — expect trace escape using micro-vias or very fine-line routing (3/3 mil or tighter). The center strip contact arrangement puts the mating interface in the middle of the connector body, which balances the insertion force across the 60 positions. This is not a power connector; the thin gold flash (1.97µin) is suited for signal-level current where mating cycles are limited (typical mezzanine duty).
No end-of-life notice or successor is on record. Tape & Reel and Cut Tape packaging are available.
