28-Position Dual-Row Receptacle Housing for DF11 Wire-to-Board Systems
Pitch and Footprint — What the 2.00 mm Spacing Means for Your Board
Both the pitch between contacts and the row spacing are 2.00 mm, which is a standard spacing for Hirose's DF11 series. This means the mating pin header will have a 2.00 mm staggered or grid pattern, and the board layout must match that exact pitch. The 2.00 mm pitch allows for moderate routing density on a two-layer board without requiring fine-line traces. For a 28-position dual-row connector, the overall width across the housing is roughly 28 mm, which fits comfortably on most edge-card or internal harness layouts.
Mating Header and Polarization
This receptacle mates with a DF11 series dual-row pin header with 2.00 mm pitch. The housing is polarized and latches to the header.
Temperature Range and Environmental Fit
The polyamide (nylon) insulation material provides good mechanical strength and dielectric properties at these temperatures. This connector is not sealed — it is intended for dry, indoor use where moisture ingress is not a concern. For outdoor or washdown applications, a sealed connector family would be required.
The DF11-28DS-2C is the 28-position member of the DF11 dual-row receptacle housing family. For lower circuit counts, the series also includes 26-position (DF11-26DS-2C), 24-position (DF11-24DS-2C), and 22-position (DF11-22DS-2C) versions, all sharing the same 2.00 mm pitch, dual-row layout, black nylon housing, and free-hanging crimp termination.
