0.50mm Pitch, 50-Position Board-to-Board Header
The Hirose DF12E(5.0)-50DP-0.5V(80) is a 50-position, 2-row header from the DF12 series, using outer shroud contacts on a 0.50mm pitch.
The 5mm mated stack height is the single most critical dimension for enclosure fit — it determines the standoff between the two boards and the clearance needed above the bottom board. The 0.50mm pitch limits the trace width and via size that can escape between pads; expect to use micro-vias or blind vias for inner-row signals on dense layouts. Surface mount termination means the header reflows with the board; no through-hole holes to block routing channels below.
The outer shroud contacts on the header engage the receptacle's inner contact beams. Termination is surface mount only — the header is placed on the top board and reflow-soldered.
