Board fit and footprint decisions
The DF12NB(3.0)-60DS-0.5V(51): The 0.50mm pitch drives the pad width and spacing on the PCB; a standard 0.50mm pitch footprint with 0.25mm pad width and 0.25mm gap works, but the board house must hold ±0.05mm registration on the solder mask to avoid bridging. Surface mount termination with solder retention means the connector self-aligns during reflow — the retention tabs on the ends pull it down to the board surface, so you don't need a separate hold-down fixture. The 60 positions at 0.50mm pitch draw about 30mm of board edge length, which fits within a standard 50mm card edge but leaves room for keep-out zones around the mounting holes.
The base product number is DF12N, and the DF12NB variant includes the solder retention feature.
