The Hirose DF12NC(3.0)-80DP-0.5V(51) is an 80-position header from the DF12 series of board-to-board mezzanine connectors. It uses a 0.50mm pitch with two rows of outer shroud contacts — the shroud carries ground and power returns on the perimeter, leaving the inner signal paths cleaner for high-speed differential pairs.
Board Layout Fit — 0.50mm Pitch and 2.30mm Above Board
The 0.50mm pitch demands a PCB fab capable of fine-line routing between pads — standard 0.5mm pitch mezzanine connectors require at least 0.25mm trace/space capability for breakout. The header stands 2.30mm above the board surface, which leaves clearance for passives or low-profile components under the mezzanine card. Surface-mount termination with no through-holes means the bottom side of the board stays clear for additional routing.
