What This Housing Is and What It Requires
The Hirose DF22R-2S-7.92C(28) is a 2-circuit receptacle housing from the EnerBee™ DF22 series, built for wire-to-board power interconnects where the wide 0.312" (7.92mm) pitch gives room for larger-gauge crimp terminals and the creepage needed for higher-voltage applications. A polarizing key prevents mis-mating with the header.
Sizing the BOM Line — Contacts Not Included
The mating side is a female socket terminated by crimp, so the bill of materials needs the correct Hirose DF22-series male crimp terminal for the wire gauge you are running. The 7.92 mm pitch accommodates terminals rated for higher current than a 2.50 mm or 3.00 mm pitch housing would; check the DF22 terminal datasheet for the specific wire range and current rating per circuit. The 2-position count is typical for a single power pair (DC feed or return) or a two-wire sensor/actuator connection. If your harness needs three circuits, the DF22R-3S-7.92C(28) is the same housing with a 3-position cavity — same pitch, same latch lock, same material.
Termination is crimp: the female socket terminals are inserted into the rear of the housing and retained by the terminal lance. The polarizing key on the housing aligns with a keyway on the header, so the connector cannot be inserted backwards or into the wrong header variant. For field service, the housing can be unmated and re-mated repeatedly; the latch is the wear item, not the contacts.
