The Hirose DF40C(2.0)-50DS-0.4V(51) is a 50-position receptacle from the DF40 series, designed for parallel board-to-board stacking. The 0.016" (0.40mm) pitch and 2mm mated stacking height target compact handheld and portable electronics where every millimeter of z-height counts. This is the 50-circuit member of the DF40C sub-family, sharing the same 0.40mm pitch and 2-row layout with the 40, 60, and 70-position siblings. The 0.40mm pitch is the tightest selection parameter here — it drives the PCB footprint and rules out hand-soldering or rework without a microscope. The 2mm mated stacking height is a hard mechanical constraint: the mating header and this receptacle together occupy exactly 2mm of board-to-board space, so the enclosure and opposite board must accommodate that gap.
