The Hirose DF40JC-10DS-0.4V(53) is a 10-position, dual-row receptacle with center strip contacts from the DF40 series.
The 0.40mm pitch is the tightest parameter a board layout engineer will work to — it forces fine-line routing between pads and a precise solder-paste stencil. The 10 positions match a 10-circuit signal bus, and the dual-row arrangement keeps the footprint compact. The 1.45mm height above board leaves room for trace escape under the part on inner layers.
Mating and Stacking
This receptacle mates with a matching DF40 series header (not included) to achieve a 2mm mated stack height. The center strip contact arrangement means the mating interface is symmetric — the header and receptacle share the same footprint outline, and the alignment is set by the plastic housing, not by external posts.
