What This Jackscrew Socket Does
The Hirose DH-LNA-W4 is a jackscrew socket accessory from the DH series, designed to secure D-Sub right-angle PCB connectors to a panel or mating half. It uses an M2 socket and an M2.3 screw thread — the socket threads onto the mating jackpost, and the screw clamps the connector to the panel. The 0.394" (10.00 mm) length below head gives enough reach to pass through a standard D-Sub flange and a panel up to that thickness. A lock washer is included to keep the screw from backing out under vibration.
This socket is made for D-Sub right-angle PCB connectors — the kind where the connector body sits parallel to the board and the cable exits at a right angle. The jackscrew replaces the standard screw-lock hardware on the receptacle side. It mates with the matching jackpost on the plug side; the M2.3 screw threads into the post, and the M2 socket accepts the screw head. If you are servicing a harness with a loose or missing lock screw on the receptacle, this is the part that crosses into the existing assembly.
