The Hirose DX20M-36S(50) is a 36-position receptacle from the DXM series, classified as a Miniature High Density (HD) connector. It packs 36 circuits into a 2-row arrangement, using an outer shroud contact style typical of compact D-subminiature footprints. A housing/shell flange with M2.6 threaded holes provides a positive panel-mount lock, so the connector stays put under cable strain without relying solely on the PCB solder joints.
Termination is solder — through-hole to the PCB — with the connector body also panel-mounted via the M2.6 flange. The dual mounting (panel screws plus PCB solder) means the mechanical load from the mating cable goes into the panel, not the board. The 2-row, 36-position layout uses a standard high-density D-sub footprint; the outer shroud contacts align with the mating plug before the pins engage.
