The Hirose DX30AM-20P is a 20-position, 2-row Miniature High Density (HD) IDC plug from the DXM series. It terminates to ribbon cable via IDC — no individual crimp contacts, just one press with the right tool.
IDC Termination — One-Press Cable Assembly
IDC termination cuts assembly time — the ribbon cable is laid across the contacts and the press forces the insulation-displacing tines through the jacket. No wire stripping, no crimp dies. The 20-position, 2-row layout matches standard 0.050-inch pitch ribbon cable, common in internal equipment harnesses. Gold contacts resist oxidation in low-current signal paths where tin would frett.
