The Hirose FX10A-100P/10-SV1(71) is a 100-position header from the FunctionMax™ FX10 series, designed for board-to-board mezzanine stacking at a fixed 5mm mated stack height. The 0.020" (0.50mm) pitch packs 100 circuits into a compact two-row footprint, which means the board layout engineer needs to route traces between 0.50mm-spaced pads — fine-pitch routing rules apply. The outer shroud contacts provide both mechanical alignment during mating and a continuous ground reference plane, reducing loop inductance in high-speed signal paths.
Surface Mount Termination and Board Retention
This header is surface-mount only — no through-hole variant exists in this order code. The ground plate adds a low-impedance return path and helps sink heat from the contacts during reflow. For a 100-position fine-pitch part, the board guide is essential: without it, the outer rows can drift off the pads during placement.
Where the 5mm Stack Height Fits
This is a fixed-height connector — no adjustable standoffs. It suits applications where the mezzanine card sits 5mm above the backplane or motherboard, common in compact networking gear, server mezzanine modules, and FPGA carrier boards.
