Board-Stacking Interconnect for Dense Mezzanine Designs
The Hirose FX10A-100P/10-SV1(91) is a 100-position header from the FunctionMax™ FX10 series, designed for parallel board-to-board stacking at a 5mm mated height. With a 0.020" (0.50mm) pitch and two rows, it packs high density into a small footprint — the 4.50mm height above board sets the z-axis clearance for the bottom board.
At 0.50mm pitch, the trace escape from the BGA-like footprint demands fine-line routing — expect two traces between pads on outer layers or a microvia layer transition. The integrated ground plate (listed in the features) provides a low-inductance return path and reduces crosstalk between rows, which matters when you're routing 100 signals through a mezzanine pair.
Stack Height Options Across the FX10 Family
The FX10A-100P/10-SV1(91) uses a 0.177" (4.50mm) height above board to achieve a 5mm mated stack height. If your board-to-board spacing needs to be tighter, the sibling FX10A-100P/10-SV(91) has a 0.138" (3.50mm) height above board for a 4mm mated stack — same 100 positions, same pitch, same gold plating. The choice between them is purely the z-axis budget: the taller version gives more clearance for mid-board components on the bottom side.
