100-Position SMT Plug for Mezzanine Stacking

The Hirose FX2-100P-1.27SV(71) is a 100-position plug from the FX2 series, designed as a center strip contact connector for parallel board-to-board stacking. Its 1.27 mm pitch packs a high circuit count into a compact footprint, making it a fit for dense mezzanine or parallel-board interconnects where routing space is tight. The surface-mount termination eliminates through-holes, freeing inner-layer routing channels on the PCB. The connector ships in tray packaging for pick-and-place handling.

At 100 positions across a 1.27 mm pitch, this plug occupies a board footprint roughly 63.5 mm long (100 × 0.050 inch). The center strip contact layout means the footprint is a single dense row of pads, not two staggered rows — verify the PCB land pattern from the Hirose drawing before committing the board layout. The 2-row arrangement still routes signals in parallel, but the pad density demands careful trace escape on inner layers.

Surface-Mount Termination and Board Assembly

The SMT solder tails reflow with the rest of the board-side components — no wave solder step. The gold finish on the contacts is compatible with standard solder paste.
