The Hirose FX6-100S-0.8SV(71) is a 100-position receptacle from the FX6 series, designed for board-to-board mezzanine stacking. The surface-mount termination and a board guide feature help align the connector during reflow assembly.
Stack Height Range and Board Spacing
The 0.157" (4.00mm) height above board of the receptacle itself is fixed, so the stack height is set by the header's height — the FX6-100P-0.8SV(71) header at 0.197" (5.00mm) gives the 5mm stack, and taller headers give the other heights. That means one receptacle BOM line can serve multiple board-spacing requirements by swapping the header, which simplifies inventory if your design uses more than one gap.
Position Count and Series Siblings
At 100 positions, this is the highest circuit-count receptacle in the FX6 series at the same 0.80mm pitch. The FX6-60S-0.8SV(71) is the 60-position sibling — same footprint family, same height, same gold plating, but 40 fewer contacts. If your BOM calls for 100 circuits, the 60-position part won't fit; conversely, if you only need 60, the 100-position part is overkill and takes up more board real estate.
