Product details

0.80 mm Pitch Mezzanine Receptacle, 40 Circuits, 6.00 mm Stack Height

The Hirose FX6-40S-0.8SV2(71) is a 40-position receptacle with center strip contacts from the FX6 series, designed for board-to-board mezzanine stacking. Its 0.031" (0.80 mm) pitch on two rows keeps the board footprint tight — the kind of density you see in compact handheld or portable equipment where every millimeter of PCB real estate is accounted for. The 0.236" (6.00 mm) height above board works with three mated stacking heights (7 mm, 8 mm, 9 mm), giving the layout engineer a choice of z-height without swapping the receptacle. Gold contact finish handles the repeated mating cycles a mezzanine joint sees during test and rework.

40 vs 50 Positions — Same Footprint Class, Different Signal Count

The FX6-50S-0.8SV2(71) shares the same 0.80 mm pitch, 6.00 mm board height, and SMT termination, but carries 50 positions instead of 40. No rewiring needed if the panel was laid out for the 40-position part; the extra ten positions on the 50 are physically wider.
