Mezzanine Stacking with a 0.60 mm Pitch Receptacle
The center strip contact arrangement means this is the female half; it mates with a matching FX8 header. Five mated stacking heights are supported — 10 mm, 11 mm, 12 mm, 14 mm, and 16 mm — which gives the mechanical designer a range of z-height options without changing the footprint.
That is a heavy plating — well above the 15 µin flash typical of low-cycle signal connectors. The gold-on-gold interface keeps contact resistance stable through those cycles; the nickel underplate blocks copper migration through the gold layer.
Board Guide and SMT Mounting
The receptacle includes a board guide — a pair of alignment posts that engage with the header's guide holes before the signal contacts touch. This takes the shear load off the fine-pitch solder joints during board assembly and under vibration. The surface-mount tails are designed for reflow; the board guide also helps the pick-and-place nozzle locate the part on the tape pocket.
Position Count and Row Configuration
100 positions across two rows, 50 per row. The 0.60 mm pitch means each row is 29.4 mm long from centre of first to centre of last contact. The dual-row layout keeps the connector width under 8 mm at the board face, which fits between component keep-outs on a standard mezzanine card.
