Board-Stacking Interconnect for Tight Pitch Routing
The Hirose FunctionMax™ FX8C-60S-SV(68) is a 60-position receptacle with center strip contacts, built for mezzanine board-to-board stacking where signal density and board spacing are both constrained.
Mated Stacking Heights and Board Spacing
This receptacle supports five mated stacking heights — 5 mm, 6 mm, 7 mm, 9 mm, and 11 mm — selected by which male header (FX8C plug) you pair it with. The 3.95 mm height above board means the receptacle sits low enough that the overall stack is dominated by the plug height, not the socket. If your board-to-board gap budget is 5 mm, you use the shortest plug variant; if you need clearance for a mid-plane component, the 11 mm stack gives the room. The same 60-position footprint works across all five heights, so the PCB layout stays fixed while the stack height is tuned per assembly.
The FX8C-60S-SV(68) mates with the Hirose FX8C series plug headers — the male counterpart with the same 0.60 mm pitch and 60-position count. Termination is surface mount on both halves, with the receptacle's gold contacts reflowed to the board pads. The board guide on the receptacle body aligns the plug during mating, so the fine-pitch terminals seat without stubbing. No press-fit or through-hole; this is a pure SMT assembly for reflow lines.
No official replacement or direct cross-reference from Hirose is on record; the tube-packaged variant is the standard for this order code.
