Construction and Termination
The body and dielectric are both molded from polybutylene terephthalate (PBT), a common thermoplastic for RF connectors that holds up to the soldering temperatures of the through-hole termination. The center contact is a copper alloy with tin plating — tin is adequate for the 30-cycle mating life here, though gold would be specified if the application required hundreds of cycles. The solder termination on the center pin and the through-hole shield legs handle the mechanical and electrical connection to the board.
