What This Housing Is For
The Hirose GT16C-1PP-HU(A) is a single-position housing in the GT16 series, designed to accept M-style crimp terminals. The brown PBT body carries a keying feature that prevents inserting the wrong terminal or mating with an unkeyed counterpart. This is the shell that holds the terminal in place within a wire-to-board or wire-to-wire interconnect — not the terminal itself, and not the header on the board.
Mating and Terminal Fit
This housing accepts the M-series crimp terminals from the same GT16 family. The keyed body ensures the housing only mates with the corresponding keyed header or receptacle, which is the main safeguard against a mis-wired harness in a multi-connector panel. No separate locking ramp — the terminal retention relies on the terminal lance engaging the housing cavity, and the keying does the polarisation work.
