What This Housing Is for — and What It Needs
The body is molded from gray Polybutylene Terephthalate (PBT), a material that holds up to moderate heat and chemical exposure common in wire harness assemblies. This housing does not carry contacts — you select and crimp the matching F terminal separately, then insert it into the cavity. The 2-position count makes it a straight match for a 2-circuit BOM line; verify your circuit count before committing the line.
Picking the Right Terminal
This housing is built for F terminals — that is the only contact family Hirose specifies for the GT5-2S-HU. The terminal selection drives the wire gauge range and the current rating of the finished assembly, so match the terminal to your wire size and load before ordering the housing. No other terminal style fits the cavity keying.
Position Count vs. the 4-Position Sibling
The GT5-4S-HU is the 4-position version of the same gray PBT housing, also accepting F terminals.
