Coaxial receptacle for board-edge RF launch
The Hirose GT5E-1P-DS(71) is a single-port coaxial receptacle from the GT5 series, designed as a through-hole, right-angle PCB mount. It carries a male pin centre contact and is terminated by solder. The connector is specified for a 50 Ohm impedance and a maximum frequency of 2 GHz, placing it in the lower RF band suitable for applications like GPS, ISM-band radios, or baseband clock distribution where controlled impedance is needed but multi-gigabit speeds are not.
Mating cycles and field service
Rated for 30 mating cycles, this connector is intended for semi-permanent or low-disconnect installations. The tin-plated brass centre contact is adequate for the cycle count but will show wear sooner than a gold-plated alternative — expect contact resistance to rise after repeated mate/unmate cycles in a test or calibration setup. For a production harness that mates once and stays, the 30-cycle rating is not a limitation.
