The Hirose HIF6-26D-1.27R(20) is a 26-position IDC receptacle from the HIF6 series, designed for mass-termination to 28 AWG ribbon cable. It uses a 0.050" (1.27mm) pitch on two rows spaced 0.100" (2.54mm) apart, with gold-plated female socket contacts.
This receptacle terminates via insulation-displacement contacts (IDC) — no wire stripping or crimping required. The 28 AWG ribbon cable is pressed onto the contact tines, which pierce the insulation and make contact with the conductor. The feed-through design lets the cable run straight through the connector, and the built-in strain relief clamps the cable jacket to protect the IDC terminations from pull forces. The black housing is RoHS3 compliant.
