The Hirose HMUA-P0.9-H1(60) is a simplex fiber optic plug from the HMU series, designed for single-fiber terminations in telecom, datacom, and industrial fiber-optic patch panels. It accepts a 0.9 mm jacketed fiber with a 125 µm cladding diameter and a 9.5 µm / 50 µm core — covering both single-mode and multimode fiber types. The plug is free-hanging (in-line) with an integrated strain relief and a blue boot for visual identification. It mates with standard HMU receptacles using the HMUA-F3 ferrule (sold separately) to terminate the fiber end.
The 0.9 mm cable diameter is the critical fit dimension — this plug is built for tight-jacketed fiber, not loose-tube or 2 mm cable. The 125 µm cladding and 9.5/50 µm core are standard for most single-mode and multimode fibers, so compatibility with common fiber types is straightforward.
This plug mates with standard HMU-series receptacles. The fiber is terminated using the HMUA-F3 ferrule (order separately) — the ferrule is crimped or epoxy-bonded to the fiber, then inserted into the plug body. The strain relief grips the 0.9 mm jacket, and the blue boot provides bend-radius protection at the back of the plug. No special tooling beyond standard fiber termination kits is required.
